What this observatory will never collapse.

MMC Sentinel measures industrialisation and asks whether it improves system coherence. It does not certify buildings, and it does not cheerlead prefab.

We never use “sustainable”, “approved”, or “certified” as collapsed labels. We never treat an announcement as a verified factory or a delivered dwelling.

What is measured

MMC Intensity is the degree to which construction has moved from site production toward industrialised manufacture and assembly. Coherence Score asks whether the intervention improves the whole system or merely transfers entropy. They are never the same number.

Evidence grades

Verified, supported, reported, estimated, unknown. Unknown is a first-class output. Absence is not a low score.

MMC Intensity

Degree to which a project or system has moved from site craft production toward industrialised manufacture and assembly. Not a sustainability rating.

Weighted composite of structure, façade, MEP, volumetric content, digital integration, and inverse of site-assembly dependency. Missing dimensions are omitted, not zeroed.

Never: We never treat MMC Intensity as a green rating. We never fill missing dimensions with zero.

Coherence Score

Does the intervention improve the whole system, or merely transfer entropy elsewhere? Scored only when evidence can support a boundary.

No universal scalar is claimed. Dimensions are stored separately. Aggregate is withheld when coverage is insufficient.

Never: We never invent a coherence score to complete a dashboard. We never assume prefab, timber, local, or imported is automatically better.
